Meet the Head Coach - Iwan Baxter

​

Iwan is the head coach and owner of 10th Planet Gloucester. A 10th Planet Black Belt with over 20 years of grappling experience, he has dedicated those years to studying, practising and teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - alongside family life.

Alongside his extensive martial arts experience, Iwan is a qualified teacher holding a PGCE and a 200-hour yoga teacher qualification. This background gives him a strong understanding of how people learn, allowing him to break down complex techniques into simple, effective instruction while promoting safe movement and long-term development.

Above all, Iwan considers himself a student of the art. He continues to learn, refine his game and evolve his coaching, ensuring students benefit from modern, effective No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

During rolling, he enjoys reminding everyone that experience beats youth... and if you're not paying attention, he'll probably try to truck roll you into a calf slicer.
